Stacy Keach Suffers Minor Stroke

Actor Stacy Keach, 67, (Up In Smoke, Nice Dreams, Prison Break and more) was hospitalized Tuesday morning after suffering a “very mild stroke” that resulted in “no impairment whatsoever” to his speech or his ability to move, according to a statement from his media representatives.

The actor "remains in a Los Angeles hospital for observation and routine precautionary procedures."

Cheech & Chong: Light Up America Tour Coming to South Dakota

The Legendary Buffalo Chip announced today that counter culture comedy icons, Cheech & Chong will play at the Chip, Tuesday, Aug. 4 during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

“When these guys say ‘This bud’s for you,’ they’re not talking beer.”

Cheech & Chong’s Light Up America Tour is an excellent match for the liberty hungry bikers who attend the annual Sturgis Rally.

The band’s songs include “Earache My Eye,” “Basketball Jones,” “Santa Claus and his Old Lady,” and “Sister Mary Elephant.” But their most famous line is “Dave’s not here,” from their first album.

Actor Stacy Keach Hospitalized

Actor Stacy Keach was hospitalized for an undisclosed ailment yesterday morning in Los Angeles. He's in stable condition.

Keach portrayed Sgt Stadanko in Up in Smoke and Nice Dreams. Recently, he was in the Fox series Prison Break and is currently in the touring production of Frost/Nixon.

Excerpts from the Aussie Press Junket

Australia's Courier Mail interviewed Cheech & Chong during a press junket to promote their upcoming Light Up Australia tour. Most of the shows sold out instantly so they've added additional dates and cities (see Light Up Australia link at the top of this page).

They were cracking non-stop jokes so the interviewer often had difficulty determining when they were pulling his leg.

Cheech says they agree on more these days. Tommy says they don't bicker as much because he's deaf.

When asked about their preferred vices nowadays, Tommy said it's "falling asleep in front of the television." Cheech says "it's getting married...Jesus Christ, if this one doesn't work though, I'm out."

It's a really funny interview.

Cheech & Chong TV Show and Live Album Coming Soon?

What's up next for Cheech & Chong? There's been talk of a broadway play based on Up in Smoke, a Vegas production based on Up in Smoke, a new movie and now a television show.

The only thing that's definite so far is the Cheech & Chong animated film.

However, Tommy Chong tells The Morning Call that earlier this week, he and Cheech pitched a television show. Tommy says they're "waiting to see what the genius TV execs are going to come up with."

He didn't provide any additional details, but he also says they may do a live comedy album. Of interest is that Cheech & Chong recorded, but Warner Records/Lou Adler never released, a live comedy album in the 1970s.

Last month, Cheech & Chong were on a episode of Talkshow with Spike Feresten. It airs tonight at midnight on Fox-TV. After the interview, they perform Mexican Americans and other songs.

Maxim Magazine Interviews Cheech and Chong

Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are interviewed in this month's issue of Maxim Magazine (page 66, on newsstands now).

It's a really funny interview.

When asked why they broke up, Cheech said it was because Tommy kept reaching for his dick. Tommy replies "And it was so small I couldn't find it. And then he ran off with Don Johnson."
